Black Forest Industries stablished in 2001 with the intention of providing high quality parts at an affordable price to the rapidly growing. It looks like they make a quality product. Shift boots fit BFI Shift Knobs only All shift boots are made-to-order and require approximately 5-7 days to be produced, but actual manufacturing lead time may be longer under some circumstances. I would check these folks out if you haven't already. 2nd gear offers a better leverage point than anything else. It simply needs to be pulled off - place the transmission into 2nd gear and yank hard towards your chest (not your head). The boot is a little tight, but I think some leather/vinyl conditioner will give me just enough slack. On manual transmission models, the knob is pressed into a groove at the top of the shift lever. I think it sits a tad higher than the factory M knob but it's negligible.

Once set just remove the adhesive and affix the BFI logo plate to the top of the knob how you'd like. I just reused the factory boot as using a flathead to work it off the factory knob. just left it in neutral and pulled straight up on it. I've been looking as these for a few months now.
